Our Assistant Summer Camp Director is the real MVP of our 2022 Summer Camp Season! This position works with children ages 4-16 and helps oversee our 11-week Summer Camp Program, while assisting our Summer Camp Director.

Summary

The Assistant Summer Camp Director serves as a leader, role model, and educator and participates in the planning, training & implementation of the summer camp program. The Director will provide the Summer Camp Director with assistance in the creation & implementation of camp activities, discipline policies, administrative tasks, camp and childcare procedures. In addition, they are responsible for assisting and maintaining program areas, confidential documents and information, leading local off-site trips, serving as a back-up counselor and filling in as the Summer Camp Director in the event of his/her absence.

 

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in closing & opening camp on a daily basis, including but not limited to: sign in/out procedures, payments & collections of camp dues & forms, conflict resolution/damage control with campers/parents/guardians/volunteers/others, inform parents of incidents, injuries & illnesses.
  • Assist with social media profiles by promoting and marketing the summer camp program.
  • Maintain & organize all first aid areas and lost & found collection.
  • Supervise the camp store. Maintain a balanced budget by monitoring inventory, records of purchases, forecasting future needs, etc.
  • Mentor, train & help guide Summer Camp Counselors and volunteers.
  • Assist in driving camp vans for any off-site camp trips or excursions, and assisting on field trips.
  • Assist in running and organizing of Friday morning breakfast and camper medications.
  • Serve as a back-up Summer Camp Counselor.
  • Supervise the camp store. Maintain a balanced budget by monitoring inventory, records of purchases, etc.
  • Supervise & organize all camp snacks, cookouts and dietary needs of camp.

Compensation Information

Salary: $525.00 per week (about $2100 a month), includes FREE YMCA Membership.
