Summary
OVERVIEW
SEI is seeking an Associate Contracts & Grants Manager to lead the full spectrum of contract and grant management across a portfolio of education and workforce programs. This position will be based in our San Rafael, CA headquarters, and will support our growing team and programmatic engagements across the country. Typical working hours are Monday-Friday, include occasional travel and field support, and require flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work. The Associate Contracts & Grants Manager reports to and supports the activities of SEI’s Executive Director and other program directors in addition to primary job role here.

In this position, you will play an integral role across the organization and our project teams, to ensure that we plan for, track and deliver on the environmental education, workforce, community capacity building and equity outcomes that we commit to achieving. You will help us to build out, oversee, and maintain the requisite focus, systems and protocols that support us to operationalize our programmatic goals, thus enabling the growing impact of our team’s sustainability workforce education, training, and leadership building programs, from kindergarten to early career.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 or more years of experience working with contracting and grants, programs relating to sustainability education and/or green workforce.
- Access to reliable transportation for work related commitments.
- Demonstrated mastery in project management & work organization.
- Track record of expanding your role, responsibilities & associated outcomes.
- Genuine commitment to centering equity & diversity in the work.
- Foundational knowledge of: educational, workforce, & climate/environmental concepts & constructs.
- Basic understanding of the nature of & players within public agencies, nonprofits, businesses & educational institutions.
- A keen ability to lead and support the execution of in-depth contracts and grants.
- Strong communications skills to support fluid contracting dialog with our funders and other outside entities such as consulting attorneys, as well as internally with SEI directors, managers, program leads, and business services colleagues.
- Provide material support to fundraising initiatives, including partnership development and grant/ proposal writing, execution of required forms for proposals, etc.
- Lead or oversee the process of key contracts and professional services agreements from development to execution to final reporting.
- Develop and help to normalize the systems, processes and administrative structures that enable robust, efficient and fluid contracting and contract management, including interprogram accounting and invoicing, and operational leadership related to programs.
- Lead, own, and manage updates to the organization's project/contract management systems.
- Responsibility to execute program related compliance items.
- Serve a key role in working across our teams to plan for and to collect the data, outcomes and stories that support dynamic progress and final reporting, in addition to external communication/presentation of our team’s work and collective impact.
- Be a key liaison between program staff and our accounting & operations teams.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
SEI requires all employees be vaccinated for COVID with exceptions for health & religious reasons. This position requires applicants to perform the following tasks: Read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason and analyze, use fine finger movements, use a computer and mouse, sit, stand, walk, drive a motorized vehicle, carry and/or lift up to 40 pounds, reach above shoulder level, bend, squat, crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp.

Compensation Information
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Receive a competitive starting salary for this position of $66,000 plus company-paid medical, sick time, vacation time, 14 paid holidays per year, in-house dental/vision/chiropractic plan, Comp time, participation in a 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan (with matching after one year of employment), and a flexible work schedule (telecommuting 2 days/week).
