The County of Sonoma Regional Parks Department seeks a highly experienced Community Engagement Division Manager to join their passionate and dedicated Parks team.

As a senior member of Regional Parks management team, the Community Engagement Division Manager is integral to helping Regional Parks implement its Strategic Priorities. The position oversees a dynamic team who are directly responsible for providing: interpretive, educational, and recreational programs as well as lifeguard, career pathway, and youth crew services. This position also leads a robust volunteer program and liaises with many internal and external partners, including communities that have historically been marginalized from parks. Additional responsibilities of the position include:

  • Coaching and leading teams
  • Collaborating with other managers to develop and implement park programs
  • Partnering with community organizations and funders
  • Designing and delivering special events
  • Developing, tracking, and managing the Division’s budget, including generating revenues and managing expenses
  • Managing risk for a diversity of public programs
  • Participating in organization-wide initiatives on equity and climate resilience
  • Cultivating a culture of inclusion and transparency within the organization

Regional Park's next Community Engagement Division Manager will be an innovative, optimistic, and people-focused leader who is eager to bring park programs to all community members. The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • A passion for and experience in creating innovative programs to connect people with parks and recreation programs
  • Significant experience supervising staff and developing/monitoring budgets
  • Superb public speaking and writing skills
  • Knowledge of how to work with underserved communities
  • Flexibility to adapt and address rapidly-changing priorities
  • Conversational-level Spanish-speaking skills are desired

Compensation Information

Starting salary is $47.42/hour ($98,971/year) plus a cash allowance of approximately $600/month*
