Nature Discovery Camp Director

El Ranchito’s mission is to connect children with the natural world by providing an extraordinarily fun and inspiring nature immersion camping experience. Nature Discovery Camp is an overnight camp for 4th-9th graders with 24 campers per session. Program activities include nature hikes, swimming, field trips, a service project, healthy food, and nights under a starry sky.  Camp is located on a protected, wild 6,400-acre historic family ranch just 18 miles out of Austin.

Nature Discovery Camp (NDC) Director responsibilities include:

o Lead recruitment, hiring and supervision of NDC staff

o Support recruitment and registration of NDC campers

o Increase outreach to recruit campers for expanded camp sessions

o Lead planning and scheduling of the overall NDC nature immersion camp program, curriculum, and activities

o Manage day to day NDC program operation during residential camp sessions including implementation of daily schedules and coordinating with leadership and support staff

o Facilitate NDC staff meetings, schedule refresh time, manage staff engagement and conflict resolution

o Develop staff training schedule and facilitate/co-facilitate staff training elements

o Manage transitions between camp sessions including pick-up, drop-off, evaluations, and family picnics
