Student Dormitory Assistant (SDA)

Foothill Horizons Outdoor School (located in Sonora, California) is seeking a dependable leader and mentor to join our residential team. The Student Dormitory Assistant (SDA) provides overnight supervision of 6th grade students in the dorms by monitoring students and their high school volunteer counselors.  SDA assists in quieting them all down in preparation for bed and oversees that the counselors are getting the 6th graders up and ready in the morning.

This position acts as a resource person for our high school volunteer counselors who sleep in the dorm rooms with the students. The SDA generally sleeps in their own space next to the dorm rooms and is the go-to person for our counselors to seek help from in the event of an overnight emergency.

The ideal candidate will: enjoy working with kids and high school students, is mature, has sound judgement, experience working in an instructional, community, or home setting with elementary or middle school aged children, and has CPR/First Aid training.  Required to work overnight, standard hours are 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM, 10-hour shifts for four days a week.  145 days a year.
