Summary

Help create an experience for our campers that is both magical and transformative! Working at F&W provides the opportunity to learn and practice problem solving in real time while being a part of a supportive community. Operating on nearly 5,000 acres of forestland in the Green Mountains of Vermont, F&W programs are rich in adventure, community, history, and spirit and foster an individual relationship with the natural world. 

While each camp and initiative provide unique programs based on age and interests, all F&W activities are shaped by Quaker principles and the common belief that individuals and communities are strengthened by justice, honesty, self-reliance, diversity and respect for all persons.

Essential Functions:

  • Live in a cabin with campers and provide for their physical and emotional safety and wellbeing
  • Supervise campers and manage behavior
  • Provide an environment where campers can test and push their own boundaries
  • Help plan and facilitate daily activities within one or more of the activity areas: (Work Projects, Creative Arts, Outdoor Living Skills, Aquatics, Barns & Gardens, Rocks and Ropes)

Our camp operational systems are rooted in sustainable practices to reduce our footprint on the land. All staff (and campers) use outhouses and live in 3-sided open-air cabins that are rustic & electricity free. Flashlights (or candles) will light your way at night, and you will sleep to the natural sounds of the forest.

Position Requirements:

  • Valid Form of Photo ID and Social Security Card
  • Experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field

Availability:

  • Mid-June to attend skills and staff training
  • Session 1: Wednesday, June 29th-July 22nd
  • Session 2: Sunday, July 24th-August 14th
  • Few days post-camp

Position Details and Benefits:

  • 1 day off a week and up to 2 hours off daily

Compensation Information

Position Details and Benefits:

  • Direct Deposit and Staff Referral Bonus
  • Salaries begin at $2,300 and vary based on experience
  • 1 day off a week and up to 2 hours off daily
  • Yummy, thoughtful, freshly made meals- 3 times per day
  • Wilderness First Aid certification administered on site
