We are looking for two registrars to join the Seattle Aquarium’s school and public programs team! We are hiring one full-time position (up to 40 hours/week) and one part time (up to 30 hours/week). The registrar furthers the mission of the Seattle Aquarium, Inspiring Conservation of Our Marine Environment, by facilitating registration of our programs and events as well as disseminating reports and relevant information to internal departments.

Summary

  • Position 1: Full-time, hourly, benefitted position, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with occasional need for evening or weekend hours based on programming and events schedule.
  • Position 2: Part-time, hourly, benefitted position, 30 hours per week, Tuesday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with occasional need for evening or weekend hours based on programming and events schedule.

Position description:
We are looking for two registrars to join the Seattle Aquarium’s school and public programs team! We are hiring one full-time position (up to 40 hours/week) and one part time (up to 30 hours/week). The registrar furthers the mission of the Seattle Aquarium, Inspiring Conservation of Our Marine Environment, by facilitating registration of our programs and events as well as disseminating reports and relevant information to internal departments. This is done by providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, including schools, groups and/or families wishing to participate in various on-site and outreach programs. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to clear and concise communication about programming to potential customers, expediting incoming registrations and requests, and ensuring that the information is accurate and reported to appropriate departments. This position supports the school group and program experiences through planning, registration and day-of greeting.

Open daily, the Aquarium prioritizes health and safety for our staff and visitors, embracing science to guide our operations. Staff are required to wear face masks while working on-site and maintain physical distance during work hours. In addition, we maintain high standards of cleanliness and all high-touch surfaces (like windows, railings, restrooms and elevators) are continuously cleaned. In alignment with King County’s current COVID 19 vaccine health order, all Aquarium staff and volunteers must provide proof of vaccination or approved medical or religious exemption by date of hire. Timeline:
We anticipate the following recruiting schedule for those candidates who are selected for
consideration. The following dates are preliminary and subject to change. We will work with
candidates to set interviews that work for all involved. If hired, relocation assistance is not
available.

Compensation Information

Pay and benefits: $21.15 - $23.30/hour ($44,000 - $48,500/year), D.O.E. Please include pay expectations in your materials. Full-time staff are eligible for Seattle Aquarium’s comprehensive benefits package to include medical, vision, dental, employer-funded health reimbursement account, medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts, life insurance, long-term disability, 403b retirement fund with employer match, access to a subsidized ORCA pass, a Family Plus membership and generous paid time off. Part-time staff are eligible for the Seattle Aquarium’s part-time benefits package to include medical, vision, employer-funded health reimbursement account, flexible spending account, a Family Plus membership and access to a subsidized ORCA pass, as well as paid sick time.
