After a two-year program hiatus resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, Walker Creek Ranch outdoor school is reopening! We are incredibly excited to rebuild a team focused on creating a safe place for students to connect with themselves, their communities, and nature.

ABOUT US

The Marin County Office of Education Walker Creek Ranch is located on an stunning 1,700-acre property in rural Marin County California.  Our 50+ year old program prides itself on providing equitable, inclusive, and high-quality residential environmental education programs and conference services to area schools and communities.

SPRING 2023 NATURALIST POSITIONS

Overview: Seasonal Naturalist position from January 2023 through early June 2023.

Responsibilities: Create a safe, equitable, and inclusive learning environment for students to have a positive outdoor experience.  Teach hands-on environmental science curriculum aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards and lead social-emotional learning and environmental awareness activities in a variety of outdoor settings. 

Desired Qualifications: Experience working with children in environmental education or outdoor recreation.  Enthusiasm and passion for working with youth outdoors.  

Compensation: $21.91 per hour (naturalists typically work 32 hours per week with additional opportunities for conference shifts on weekends). Seasonal lodging available. Apply as soon as possible, positions are open until filled.

Compensation Information

If selected for this possition, Seasonal Extrahire Naturalists will be provided lodging and earn $21.91 per hour. Expect to work 32 hours over a consecutive four day outdoor education program. There is an opportunity to work another 8 hours assisting with conference work. Applicants can expect consistant outdoor ed work from January 3rd to June 1st.
