Interpretive Engagement Supervisor (On-site/Full-Time)

The Interpretive Engagement Supervisor is a part of dedicated team who are committed to integrating education into the guest experience and recognize the significance of education in fostering community support for the Zoo. This position provides management and oversight for the following areas: On-grounds Interpretation of Staff, Guide Assistants and Events, Interpretive Training, Interpretive Planning, Signage, Graphics and Interpretation Media. The Interpretive Engagement Supervisor reports to the Director of Education.
Specific Responsibilities:

On-Grounds Interpretation: Leads development, implementation of evaluation of interpretive programming across zoo grounds.
Interpretive Training: Maintains certification through the National Association for Interpretation and utilizes knowledge obtained to develop, facilitate, and evaluate training for staff and volunteers, including animal teams and guest services staff.
Interpretive Planning: Assist Director of Education in the development of new interpretive experiences and elements.
Must be able to work Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday. At times, this schedule may vary according to needs of the Department.
Must be available to work special events that may occur outside of regular work schedule, including evenings, weekends or holidays, as needed.
