The Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, known simply as the Friends of Rogers is responsible for the operation of the 600 acres, five facilities, and seven miles of trails at Rogers Center. Led by a devoted board of directors from the community, and staffed with some of the most talented environmental scientists and educators in the region, we operate this unique community asset for Central New York.

Our operating agreement with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation allows us to work in partnership with NYS to deliver on our mission: to provide outstanding educational opportunities that excite, inspire, and motivate people of all ages and abilities to enjoy, understand, appreciate, and protect our natural environment.

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our Environmental Education Center, inspiring communities and fostering a deep connection to the natural world. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership, relationship management, and financial acumen to advance our mission and continue our impact.

Summary

Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center (FOR) is accepting applications for the position of  Executive Director (ED). The ED is the chief executive officer of FOR, reports to the Board of Directors (BOD), manages the FOR Staff, and coordinates operations and activities with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).

Compensation Information

The minimum base salary for this position is $65,000 and includes benefits such as group health, dental and vision insurance coverage with a generous employer cost sharing, contributions to a retirement plan, and paid time off.
