Ideal Candidate
Location & Community Fit
- Intentional Community Alignment: Has a long-term desire to live in or actively engage with an intentional community in the Gulf South/Greater New Orleans area (duos and families are welcome!).
- Regional Connection: Possesses strong social, familial, or lived ties to the Gulf South region.
- Hybrid/Remote Flexibility: While living on-site is an option, living on-site is NOT required. Many administrative tasks can be done remotely, provided you can attend scheduled on-site events (typically 2–3 weekends per month).

Operations, Tech & Hospitality
- Hospitality & Guest Experience: A warm, personable, and calm host who excels at welcoming strangers, handling guest concerns, and facilitating community-focused outdoor education and nature experiences.
- Property & Event Operations: Highly detail-oriented and proactive—noticing small details (e.g., trail maintenance, stocking amenities, identifying wear-and-tear) and taking initiative before issues arise. Capable of coordinating group labor for larger events and projects.
- Tech & Digital Literacy: Tech-savvy and proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar), social media scheduling, basic graphic design (e.g., Canva), WordPress, MailerLite, and booking platforms (Airbnb, Hipcamp, Firefly Reservations).
- Basic Content Creation: Able to capture quality photos and short videos on a smartphone to keep web listings and social media active and inviting.
Personal Attributes & Physical Requirements
- Self-Directed Leader: Highly motivated to work independently with minimal oversight, maintaining clear communication via a brief weekly check-in.
- Physical Capability: Able to navigate uneven terrain in all weather conditions and lift 30+ lbs (firewood, sawdust, propane tanks, supplies).
- Vibe: Basic comfort with off-grid infrastructure, rustic living, or permaculture principles is a plus.
…More About Us:
AYNI LLC began in June of 2018, and we began hosting campers, rental events, and a Forest School in 2020 after completing our first round of infrastructure on the land (ranger station, yurt, canvas tents, primitive campground). Since then we host anywhere from 300-500 people a year on our 5+ site primitive camp ground, 3 glamping tents, 1 tiny cabin, 2 full-size cabins, and our 700 sqft yurt. We also have facilities for groups size 20-40 that include a fully equipped kitchen and covered dining area. Our events tend to focus on earthskills (natural building, foraging, etc.,) earth-based/indigenous spiritual practices (winter solstice, grief rituals, etc.), and nature-based learning and education (prescribed burning workshops, Forest School for kiddos, now offered by Burrow Nature Center). We make it a priority for our events to be kid-friendly, as accessible as possible (economically, physically, culturally), and deeply conscious of the environmental impact human visitors have on the land we live and love.
Alongside AYNI LLC there are two other entities at home on the land. The first is the Burrow Nature Center, our non-profit arm that focuses on conservation of and education about the unique ecosystem and multiple threatened species that call the land here home. The second is an entity in the making, AYNI Village, which governs the community of anywhere from 6-15 individuals who live together on the land full-time. We are working towards creating a community land trust that allows for a group of community stewards to oversee long-term facility/residential development as well as oversees the day-to-day tasks of community living.
As the events & rentals assistant, your main role would be to manage AYNI LLC, but coordination across all the entities is key. Further, as a live-in long term resident, you would inherently be part of the AYNI Village, and would be expected to participate in community tasks and responsibilities. You can learn more about what it means to join AYNI Village by clicking here.

$1000/month paid bi-weekly + Commission for Certain Bookings
This position has opportunities to grow, including responsibilities and compensation for long term tenants.
