Camp Grady Spruce YMCA, located on beautiful Possum Kingdom Lake approximately 120 miles west of Dallas, is searching for an Outdoor Education Director.

Summary

This role will live on site, coordinating our Outdoor Education programs. This role encompasses full accountabilities for all facets of camp operation, including staffing, programming, health and safety, and the strategic management of marketing and business aspects of the Outdoor Education programs.

 

The Program Director is entrusted with the development and implementation of the curriculum for the Camp Grady Spruce outdoor education program. The curriculum should reflect the current Outdoor Education TEKS for the Texas Public Schools.

 

This role includes the following responsibilities:

1. Budget Management:

· Develop and meticulously monitor a $1M budget to ensure it aligns with or surpasses expectations for the branch's financial status.

2. Residential Role:

· Reside on-site and assume the responsibility of responding promptly to the needs of guests and staff, maintaining a 24-hour presence during programs.

3. Collaborative Support:

· Collaborate with other team members to provide assistance and support across various camp operations as required.

4. Volunteer Engagement:

· Offer support to volunteers, particularly during the Annual Campaign and other campaign-related initiatives.

5. Training Staff:

· Train staff in all aspects of the Outdoor Education Program or find suitable trainers for activities including Archery, BB’s, canoeing, and boat driving.

Compensation Information

$48,000.00-$53,000.00 yearly.
