We are looking for a warm, grounded, and highly capable educator to lead our nature-based program
for children ages 3–5. This is not a typical preschool classroom, our days unfold outdoors in the
garden, in the forest, and in dynamic blended learning spaces where children are engaged, curious,
and deeply supported. You will be the architect of our youngest learners' days: crafting intentional
literacy and math experiences woven seamlessly into nature play, art, and social-emotional learning.

Summary

WHAT YOUR DAYS LOOK LIKE
• Design and deliver daily reading and math instruction grounded in a year-long scope and
sequence
• Lead outdoor exploration, garden education, and nature-based play with intention and joy
• Facilitate art projects, sensory experiences, and creative expression integrated into academic
themes
• Foster social-emotional development through circle time, conflict resolution, and community
building
• Maintain a prepared, organized, and beautiful learning environment — indoors and out
• Create detailed weekly lesson plans aligned to developmental benchmarks
• Observe and document each child's growth; communicate regularly with families
• Collaborate closely with your classroom aide and school leadership
YOU ARE
• Deeply compassionate and emotionally intelligent — you meet children where they are
• A self-starter who takes initiative, sees what needs to happen, and makes it happen
• A natural leader with calm confidence and clear, loving boundaries
• Highly organized — lesson plans, materials, routines, and records are always in order
• Genuinely excited to be outside in all seasons, including mud season
• Flexible, creative, and able to hold a structured day with a light touch
• Committed to the whole child — academic growth and emotional wellness are equally important
to you
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years leading a classroom of young children
• Experience with nature-based, Waldorf, Reggio, or project-based approaches a strong plus
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain
• Physical ability to work outdoors in varied weather and terrain
"If you believe children learn best when they're rooted in the natural world — you belong here."
