Join an active and engaged team to guide children ages 4-14 through summer experiences they'll never forget! You are an integral part of our summer camp team, specializing in non-formal, environmental education day camp programming. Plan, develop and co-teach programs specializing in urban outdoor recreation at one or more of our UEC branches.

Summary

Summer Camp counselors join our team of ongoing educators for 9 weeks of summer day camps with school-aged children. Camper-centered programming is planned and adjusted by camp counselors throughout the summer. Daily schedules include before and/or after care responsibilities.

Summer camp counselors must be comfortable in the outdoors for most or all of the day, and including weather which may be rainy, cool or hot. Activities may also require the ability to lead adventure activities such as biking or kayaking.

This role begins June 8th with 2 weeks of training, followed by 9 weeks of camps and completing August 21, 2026.

Compensation Information

The Summer Camp Counselor is a 40 hour/week role and is a paid $1,120 on a bi-weekly basis.
This role is allotted 3 days (24 hours) PTO for planned vacation or sick days.

Training June 8–19 is required.
