The Department of Biological Sciences at Florida International University is seeking qualified candidates for an open rank tenure-track position in Marine Ecology and Conservation.

Summary

The Department of Biological Sciences at Florida International University is seeking qualified candidates for an open rank tenure-track position in Marine Ecology and Conservation. Scientists working to address innovative questions in the ecology and conservation of tropical marine ecosystems are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to have a solid publication record; to bring and maintain an active, externally funded research program; to supervise graduate students in our Ph.D. program; and to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of expertise. Candidates with a well-developed public-facing strategy and accomplishments may also be considered for the Walter and Rosalie Goldberg Chair of Tropical Ecology and Conservation. Experience in designing, operating and maintaining research facilities associated with fresh-saltwater mesocosms, water pumping and filtration systems, marine aquaculture, especially corals and urchins as well as underwater robotics testing facilities is desirable. Successful candidates could also become affiliated with several preeminent research institutes and centers relevant to conservation biology, including the Institute of Environment. The minimum requirements are a Doctoral degree from an accredited institution, a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and service, and active academic research.

Compensation Information

$80,000 - $110,000 (commensurate with experience)
