Summary
The Marine Mammal Care Center (MMCC) seeks an Education Coordinator to lead our established educational
programs. If you are passionate about ocean conservation, love marine mammals, and enjoy engaging students
and the public to make a positive difference for our ocean, we want you on our team.
Reporting to the Chief Operations and Education Officer (COEO), you’ll support MMCC’s mission by inspiring
audiences to take action for a healthy ocean and educating visitors about our work. You will oversee the
coordination, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of all education programs, working with our
volunteer educators and partners to deliver meaningful experiences that build knowledge and inspire
environmental stewardship.
This role oversees the logistics of all classroom-based educational programs, including field trips, onsite
educational programming for visitors, and related community partnerships, while fostering strong relationships
with teachers and collaborators. You'll develop and maintain lesson plans, training resources, and impact reports
to ensure program quality and support grant goals and requirements. While instruction is primarily delivered by
volunteers and partners, you'll provide teaching support as needed and ensure volunteers are well-prepared and
supported.
The ideal candidate is passionate about ocean conservation, detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and thrives in collaborative work with volunteers, partners, and development teams to drive impact.
