Summary
Position Details:
- Full-Time, Exempt
- Reports to: Associate Director of Education
- Position will start no earlier than September 1
- Must have a flexible schedule to be able to work weekends and evenings
Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities of the Academic Programs Coordinator position include but are not limited to:
- Supports Holden Forests & Gardens’ mission, vision, and values
- Manages CLE4SCI program, including supervising subcontract instructors, managing expenses, scheduling, and maintaining instructor material and classroom supplies.
- Primary collaborator with Development Dept for CLE4SCI funding
- Develops and implements tactical and operational plans to optimize the functioning of academic programs.
- Coordinates Girl Scout programs and leads these programs as needed.
- Teaches educational programs as needed
- Assists with the day-to-day coordination of academic education programs
- Orders, prepares, and maintains academic program materials
- Trains school guide volunteers and paid contract instructors
- Develops new academic programs and activities
- Coordinates, trains and supervises volunteer-lead academic programs
- Supervises potential interns and seasonal staff as necessary
- Contributes positively to a team of Education and Guest Services professionals
Qualifications and Skills:
- Demonstrate a passion for people and nature
- A bachelor's degree in education or related science field or
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an educational setting with a preferred emphasis on the PreK-12 school populations
- Highly proficient with the use of Microsoft 365 products, specifically Teams, Outlook email, and calendar
- Highly skilled in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and the ability to produce and use data tables and charts
- Ability to understand basic instructions.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Stand and sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to hike up to 3-5 miles in variable terrain
- Perform tasks in all weather conditions; temperatures may range from 15-100°F
- Working primarily outdoors where temperature extremes exist
- Effective vision and hearing
- Hand and arm dexterity
- Walk and work on wet, uneven, slippery, or rocky terrain
- Kneel, bend, stoop, grab, and reach
- Regular lifting and carrying of up to 20 pounds, occasionally 40 pounds
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs
