This is a great opportunity to lead the Fiddleheads Forest School team! Fiddleheads is an entirely outdoor preschool in the Washington Park Arboretum, with three designated outdoor classrooms. As a licensed preschool, we offer options for 4-7 hours of childcare per day, rain or shine! The Head of School is responsible for a variety of duties, including team management and growth, coordination with other Arboretum staff, community-building with families, and many other aspects of the program.

Summary

This position will report directly to the Youth and Family Programs Supervisor. In partnership with the Programs Supervisor and the Fiddleheads Program Coordinator, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the preschool program, including both administrative and operational/programmatic operations such as following state childcare licensing standards, enrollment, supervising teachers and support staff, teacher training, internal and external communication, classroom support, coordinating and hosting school events, coordinating the parent group, and implementation of program policies and procedures. In addition, this position will occasionally assist as needed with the creation and implementation of educational opportunities based out of the UWBG and geared for early learners.
