We believe that experiencing the beauty of our region leads to healthier, happier lives. By protecting incredible places and ensuring appropriate access, we enhance the benefits of conserved lands for our communities. Our vibrant education program engages public and private (K-12) schools, prioritizing outdoor classrooms in nature preserves, working forest reserves, and assist projects. We also offer field trips for seniors, adults, and families. The Director of Environmental Education leads this program, shaping the future of conservation education and inspiring people of all ages to connect with the natural world. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact in northern Michigan, fostering a deeper appreciation for our environment and everything it has to offer.

Summary

The Director of Environmental Education (Director) leads the Conservancy’s education program to achieve its strategic priorities. This role involves overseeing the planning, implementation, and promotion of educational initiatives, as well as supervising and training educational staff, including seasonal hires. The Director also serves as executive secretary to the Education Committee, maintaining regular communication with its Chair. The Director will also regularly work with the Development Team to enhance donor stewardship.

Community Commitment: Creating meaningful educational opportunities that benefit and enrich our community.
