We are a team of passionate scientists dedicated to fostering a love for marine conservation in future generations. We are now onboarding team members at our New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and New England Locations

 

Availability

  • Programs run from mid-June through early September.
  • Required participation for the entire duration of the program, typically Monday-Friday, 9:00 am–2:00 pm.
  • Applicants must be available until mid to late August.
  • Note: We are unable to provide housing at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Support Staff will assist Lead Scientists in conducting engaging lessons, activities, and discussions focused on marine science and conservation.
  • Support Staff will help care for attendees with a range of both physical and mental abilities, working independently with attendees if needed
  • Support Staff will oversee the setup, maintenance, and organization of program materials and supplies.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for program participants.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality educational experiences.
  • Adapt to varying outdoor settings and independently lead small groups when necessary.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of participants throughout the program.

 

Qualifications

  • Passionate about conservation and our oceans
  • A degree in marine sciences, biology, education, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in scientific fieldwork or teaching is preferred.
  • Ability to lead and conduct program activities in an outdoor setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

In 2007, our program was first launched in Lavallette, NJ. Since then, we have expanded to more shores and local communities, reaching thousands of students and families along the way. Our mission at New Logic Marine Science Camp is to ignite passion for marine science, conservation, and environmentalism in the next generation of scientists worldwide through our “hands-on, feet-wet” outdoor education model.

Compensation Information

Lead Scientists:

  • $18-22/hr
  • Eligible for IRA retirement plan

Support Staff:

  • $15-19/hr
  • Eligible for IRA retirement plan

Interns:

  • Eligible to receive college credit
  • Free resume building and career development workshops
