Will work in tandem with the Director of Sustainability and Workforce Development (DSWD), in serving to provide the Museum the expertise in topics related to sustainability, climate solution and environmental education.

Summary

SUMMARY: The Environmental Program Manager (EPM) will oversee the museum’s  EcoExplorers Internship program. This internship is a year-long program designed to inspire Broward County high school students to become Environmental Ambassadors that can have a positive impact on their community. TThe EPM may also aid the DSWD in implementing and managing sustainability initiatives in museum operations. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree required in environmental science, biology or related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a museum or educational setting. Must have a strong understanding of the Everglades, South Florida ecosystems and Coastal Resilience issues. Management experience required in hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and organizing staff and volunteers. Requires excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and must be self-motivated with innovative thinking skills. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs. Must be available to work weekends and holidays to successfully implement the EcoExplorer Internship. 

Compensation Information

$60,000/yearly
