Support Staff Position--Do you have a passion for the wonders of the natural world and want to help campers needing behavioral support have a successful camp experience? Join NBNC for our 2025 summer camp and help a variety of children enjoy our programs.

Summary

The Americorps Summer Camp Instructor will co-develop and teach summer day camp programs; mentor teen Leaders-in-Training; uphold NBNC's commitment to providing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion; participate in all VHCB Americorps trainings, service days, events, and program initiatives; engage in professional and personal development activities and networking opportunities. Position dates are May 27, 2025 through August 15, 2025

The Summer Camp Support Staff will provide behavioral support for children.  They will use observations, registration information, and staff feedback to help campers with identified increased needs participate positively in camp.  Specific responsibilities will include developing a positive rapport with campers; collaborating with other camp staff to promote a nature and place-based approach to learning and on how to best support campers; provide modifications to activities as needed so all campers can participate; documenting provided support and accomodations; uphold NBNC's commitment to promote justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Position dates are June 16, 2025 through August 15, 2025.

Compensation Information

VHCB Americorps--Members will receive a living allowance of $7943 (pre-tax), an education award of $1956.35 (pre-tax) upon successful completely of service. Other benefits include health insurance, federal school loan forebearance, and various training and networking opportunities.  Summer Support Staff position is $21/hour.
