We are looking for an Education Program Manager to join our passionate team in lifting barriers to build a more diverse and inclusive wildlife conservation movement. Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) is at the center of all that we do at Conservation Nation. This full-time position nurtures the expansion of innovative Conservation Nation education programs through fundraising, networking, curriculum development, program delivery, educator training, and strategic planning as a member of our collaborative team. The position is based in Washington, D.C. and is a combination of remote work, monthly in-person meetings, and weekly programming at schools.
Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Director of Education, collaborate with a creative team to collectively shape an overall vision and strategy for Conservation Nation education programs
- Work closely with Education Director on all aspects of fundraising for education, including donor cultivation, grant writing, corporate outreach, communicating with funders, tracking progress on fundraising goals, creating and organizing photo and video documentation of programs, and recording data in Salesforce
- Work collaboratively with the team to create original bilingual (English & Spanish) content for the Conservation Nation Academy curriculum and utilize feedback from evaluation tools to ensure all curriculum is relevant, innovative, and aligned with the most current curriculum standards
- Build a diverse network of environmental professionals to participate in development of the Conservation Nation Academy curriculum
- Teach classes for middle and high school students in Washington, D.C. through a variety of both in school and after school programs
- Deliver in-person and virtual professional development programs for educators
- Represent Conservation Nation at national and regional conferences as needed
- Foster partnerships with outside organizations serving complementary environmental education roles
- Maintain and expand program connections with school system partners, including periodic updating of MOUs and partnership letters
- Communicate education successes to partners, funders, and the public through social media and blogs
- Serve as an effective spokesperson for Conservation Nation and its mission
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to create innovative strategies and programs without existing models
- Ability to establish, manage, and complete multiple projects on time and on budget
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively build strong relationships both internally and externally
- Teaching experience in formal or non-formal settings with strong references
- Dynamic leader with an entrepreneurial spirit and exceptional initiative
- Excellent verbal and written (including electronic) communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player
- Ability to roll with the punches
- Fluency in conversational Spanish desired
- Successful fundraising experience desired
- Non-profit and environmental organization experience desired
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to effectively use a personal computer for standard business communications
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. and transport bulky lesson materials to schools

Compensation Information
Salary Range: $60-65K annually with generous benefits package
