Summary
Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture’s (CCUA) Youth Education Program engages learners with hands-on experiences that emphasize the connection between food, health, and the environment. School, civic, and community groups learn about the connection between food, health and the environment through school gardens and gardens at the Agriculture Park that are maintained by CCUA. The Youth Education Program works to empower and inspire learners to take the skills they have learned through programming and use those skills in their homes, schools, and/or communities. CCUA’s Youth Education Program works with Columbia Public Schools Farm to School Program and other community partners to provide hands-on learning experiences to develop a deeper understanding of the social, cultural, and environmental impact food has on our communities.
The Youth Education Manager (YEM) is a full-time, year-round position that will lead CCUA’s Youth Education programming. The YEM reports to CCUA’s Programs Director and will supervise a passionate team of four people to meet the strategic goals of the program. This includes overseeing the ongoing expansion of the Columbia Public Schools Farm to School Program and other programs with community partners. The YEM will spend the majority of their time between operations, administration, and curriculum development, but will also assist in delivering educational programming.
Position open until the right candidate is identified, with a targeted start date in Q1 2025. More details are available here.
