Summary

Position Overview:

The Youth Program Coordinator (YPC) staff position is responsible for supporting all Montana Conservation Corps (MCC) youth program activities from office and field locations. Primary duties include the daily management of the youth program, coordinating logistics, school visits and recruitment events, and leading training during the Leadership Development Program (LDP). This position will split time between administrative, logistical and field support duties, including training Youth Crew Leaders, coordinating with project partners and then shifting to field-based support in the summer months. Field-based work includes: providing technical guidance as necessary and ensuring compliance with MCC policies and procedures. The YPC will assist with leader check-ins, training, evaluations, field support and administrative tasks for youth program leaders (AmeriCorps positions) as directed by the Youth Program Manager. During the field season the YPC will conduct site visits which will involve traveling to crews’ worksites and camping overnight with the group. Typically, these are 2-3 days in length but additional field time may be required depending on needs of the crews and/or if leader coverage is needed unexpectedly. The YPC is expected to maintain good communication between all youth program staff, other MCC offices, project partners and crews in the field.
