Join the oldest organization in the nation dedicated to outdoor education and excursions for BIPOC youth. Receive invaluable skills in the outdoors to safely take youth in the outdoors and provide transformation experiences for them. This is a multi-month training with opportunities to get paid throughout the training. After this program, you will become a paid instructor with trips all over the state!

Summary

The Diverse Outdoor Leaders Institute (DOLI) is a six-month training and apprenticeship program designed to create wilderness instructors for our organization and beyond. The DOLI provides leaders from culturally diverse backgrounds with the skills necessary to take youth from under-resourced, urban communities safely into the wilderness. DOLI graduates will become field instructors for OBA courses and will be positioned for careers in the outdoor industry.

Compensation Information

Compensation on a daily fixed rate. Pay includes stipends for overnight trips and planning time. Opportunities to significantly increase pay rates through experience.
