The STEM Education Curriculum and Training Specialist will join the STEM Education Program team at DRI. This position will be responsible for writing standards aligned K-12th grade curriculum on a broad variety of STEM education topics.

Summary

Curriculum will be written under advisement of STEM Education Program personnel, and content will be informed by DRI's Research Scientists and experts in the field. In addition, this position will be responsible for conducting in-person and virtual educator professional development trainings on STEM content. The STEM Curriculum and Training Specialist will conduct community outreach to promote developed curriculum and educational resources through engagement at community partner events, conferences, and workshops. This position will join a dynamic team and is a great opportunity for a creative and motivated individual passionate about STEM education. This position is available at DRI’s Reno, NV or Las Vegas, NV campus. 

Key Job Duties: 

Curriculum Development (65%)

  • Developing curriculum concept, standard alignment, and associated activities.
  • Write curriculum and evaluation metrics.
  • Test curriculum and refine based on feedback.
  • Provide finalized curriculum to the STEM Education Program.

Educator Professional Development (20%)

  • Plan, promote, and implement educator professional development trainings based on developed or provided STEM education curriculum or resources.

Community Outreach (15%)

  • Promote the STEM Education Program and related resources to the community through participation at community outreach events, conferences, and workshops.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 4 years of related experience or an Associate's and 2 years of related experience.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Work, and Windows operating system. 
  • Experience with K-12 education in formal or informal education settings. 
  • Knowledge of and interest in STEM Education. 
  • Strong written communication skills.

Compensation Information

This is a DRI Technologist position, Grade 33, with a minimum starting annual salary of $58,257 effective 10/1/24.  Starting salary is commensurate with experience and education and alignment with similar public academic-research institutions.
