Summary

TerraCorps is an AmeriCorps affiliated environmental nonprofit preparing and mobilizing emerging leaders to help communities gain access to and conserve land for people and nature.

Aquidneck Community Table is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to building a healthy local food system accessible to all.

The TerraCorps Youth Education Coordinator will build the long-term capacity of their service site, Aquidneck Community Table, by:

  • using experiential education and service learning techniques to enhance school gardens and teach students to plant, grow, harvest, and eat vegetables.
  • partnering with youth groups to lead land stewardship-focused service learning projects.
  • partnering with public schools to lead students in interpretive and inquiry-based lessons to investigate local flora and fauna and evaluate environmental conditions.

Members serve in full-time (38 hour/week), 11-month positions from August 26th, 2024- July 25th, 2025.

Compensation Information

These AmeriCorps positions receive a stipend of $27,000 distributed over the course of the term,  healthcare coverage, childcare coverage if eligible, money for college ($7,395), student loan forbearance if the member qualifies, professional mentoring and coaching, professional network development, and additional AmeriCorps benefits.
