Placer Land Trust (PLT) is seeking a Land Manager to join our team to manage, monitor and care for PLT’s protected natural and agricultural lands in Placer County. Headquartered in Auburn, CA, PLT offers a hybrid work environment and flexible scheduling. PLT values and seeks a team with diverse experience, backgrounds, perspectives, and skills to ensure we are strong, and our work remains relevant for all current and future generations. We recognize that historically land conservation has not been a diverse field with equitable representation and opportunities for all, and PLT is working to change that. Many skills can be taught, and as long as you meet job requirements and will promote a culture of inclusion, you are strongly encouraged to apply.

Summary

Placer Land Trust's Land Manager will be responsible for managing and monitoring several thousand acres of PLT’s protected properties. The job is about 40% field work, and about 60% office work. The Land Manager will work as part of a team of land management (aka “stewardship”) staff and will be supervised by PLT’s Stewardship Director.

The position is full-time exempt, primarily weekdays with frequent travel to field locations, and occasional weekend and evening work. Headquartered in Auburn, CA, PLT offers a hybrid work environment and flexible scheduling.

We seek applicants with diverse backgrounds and experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate land management experience and commitment to conservation and land stewardship.  The full job listing, including information about qualifications and compensation, can be found here: placerlandtrust.org/about-plt/join-our-team/

The initial deadline to apply is July 25, 2024, with an anticipated start date in early September 2024. However, the position will remain open and listed on our website until filled.

To apply, email a cover letter and resume to info@placerlandtrust.org with “Land Manager Application” in subject line.

Compensation Information

The salary for this position will range from $67,000-$70,000, based on skills and experience. Annually PLT offers 13 paid holidays, accrual of paid vacation starting at 13 days, and accrual of paid sick time at 10 days. PLT contributes to the cost of group health insurance available to PLT employees. When the employee becomes eligible per IRS rules, PLT starts and contributes to the employee’s 403b retirement program. PLT offers ongoing training and professional development.
