The Education Technician acts as lead with training, handling, enrichment, care, and recordkeeping of the Education Ambassador Animal Collection at the Salisbury Zoo. This position plays a major role in providing educational programming and assisting with events within the community. Assists with the recruitment and training of volunteers, interns and staff.

Summary

PROFILE: 

Under the education curator’s supervision, the education technician acts as lead with training, handling, enrichment, care, and recordkeeping of the Education Ambassador Animal Collection. Assists in the development of protocols that serve as guidelines to staff and volunteers. Assists with development and facilitation of educational and marketing activities for the Zoo and is primarily responsible in planning and administering Zoo Camp. Assists with recruiting and training of volunteers, interns and staff. Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Experience: 6 months of related

Requirements/Certifications:  Valid Driver’s License; CPR/First Aid Certification*; successful completion of NIMS ICS 100 & 700 or ability/willingness to obtain within 60 days
