Interested in a yearlong internship working with the community to co-design environmental education programs, develop and lead new programs that strengthen the voices of youth in conservation, and ensure that programs are inclusive and accessible to diverse communities?

Summary

Join the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge team as we work to become a trusted community asset, reflective of the entire community, that is equitable and collaborative in pursuit of our conservation mission. 

Intern will: 

  • Facilitate interpretive, environmental education, recreation, and stewardship programs for youth and target audiences 
  • Co-design and co-implement programs with community partners 
  • Facilitate Idaho Jr. Duck Stamp art contest 
  • Identify barriers that limit access to refuge programs, then implement solutions 
  • Participate in refuge visitor services projects 

Duration: 12-month internship; starting October 7, 2024

Compensation Information

Pay: $600 weekly living allowance (paid bi-weekly) 

Benefits: $1,100 to/from travel allowance (paid once), $1,000 duty related travel reimbursement, health insurance, housing available on site. Note: Eligible for AmeriCorps Education Award of $6,895 and Public Lands Corps hiring authority.
