Summary
Join the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge team as we work to become a trusted community asset, reflective of the entire community, that is equitable and collaborative in pursuit of our conservation mission.
Intern will:
- Facilitate interpretive, environmental education, recreation, and stewardship programs for youth and target audiences
- Co-design and co-implement programs with community partners
- Facilitate Idaho Jr. Duck Stamp art contest
- Identify barriers that limit access to refuge programs, then implement solutions
- Participate in refuge visitor services projects
Duration: 12-month internship; starting October 7, 2024

This position is a partnership between Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge and Student Conservation Association.
Compensation Information
Pay: $600 weekly living allowance (paid bi-weekly)
Benefits: $1,100 to/from travel allowance (paid once), $1,000 duty related travel reimbursement, health insurance, housing available on site. Note: Eligible for AmeriCorps Education Award of $6,895 and Public Lands Corps hiring authority.
