Summary

Offers the opportunity to gain field experience conducting bird surveys and a variety of other biological field techniques under the supervision of the refuge biologist. This position is stationed in Newport, Oregon.

May 1, 2023 - March 31, 2024

-Conduct bird surveys using established field protocols, which involve identifying birds by sight and sound
-Conduct nesting seabird counts on aerial photographs using GIS software
-Lead seabird monitoring volunteers by scheduling, instructing and organizing volunteer efforts
-Enter field work data into MS Excel and Access database

-$1,600 monthly living stipend
