Summary

Key responsibilities & duties
Educate K-12 students on various subjects by utilizing activities with discussion. Subjects include variations of interactive courses (e.g. archery and survival skills). Educators work flexible hours that primarily include teaching courses in the day and evening. Occasional weekend work may be required. Care taking of the animal ambassadors in the onsite herpetology lab as well as kitchen duties is shared among the educators on staff. These responsibilities and duties will be covered in the included in-depth two-week training.
About the facility:
The Wahsega 4-H center is located at the foot of the Appalachian Trails in the beautiful Chattahoochee National Forest with a waterfall onsite. One of the nation’s largest residential environmental education programs, this center uses the outdoors to provide a classroom without walls for students grades K-12. Established in 1979, the Georgia 4-H program now has 5 successful state facilities serving more than 37,000 students each year.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required. Preferred degrees are Education, environmental studies, Environmental Education, Biology, Forestry, Outdoor Education, or related fields.

Compensation Information
$13.25/hr. overtime paid over 40 hours per week. Expect 35-45 hours per week.
