The Virginia Zoo seeks a talented Volunteer Programs Manager to lead and help us grow our volunteer programs. This position will manage the daily activities of the 4 different volunteer programs: Zoo Crew, Conservation Youth Team, Group, and Episodic Volunteers. The Virginia Zoo is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and much of our success is thanks to a strong volunteer program.

Summary

The Volunteer Programs Manager manages the Virginia Zoo’s robust volunteer programs consisting of our adult Zoo Crew, teen Conservation Youth Team, Group, and Episodic volunteers. Volunteers are vital to carrying out the Zoo’s mission to engage our community to take action to save the world’s wildlife and their ecosystems. Volunteers assist many different departments around the Zoo including Animal Care, Animal Wellness, Guest Services, Events, Horticulture, and Mission Engagement. The Volunteer Programs Manager reports directly to the Senior Director of Mission Engagement and directly manages one position, the full-time Volunteer Programs Coordinator.

Compensation Information

This is a full-time, exempt manager position with a salary range of $52,000-60,000, depending on experience.
