Summary

Lead Early Childhood Faculty Position

Murie Program and Interpretive Assistant

The Murie Program and Interpretive Assistant provides interpretation about the Murie legacy to a wide array of audiences including the general public and Teton Science Schools (TSS) participants. This is a dynamic position; a day may include chatting with visitors at the Murie Ranch, leading a formal docent tour of the Murie home, and supporting logistics of residential programming. The program assistant is part of the public facing team of the Murie Ranch, available and willing to answer questions from the general public as well as participants staying at the Murie Ranch. This position will provide campus-specific assistance to TSS staff when they are leading programs at the Murie Ranch. TSS hosts a number of Road Scholar programs -  educational travel trips for retirees -  on the Murie Ranch and this role will support evening activities and dinner, and offer general guest assistance during these week-long programs. Other duties could also include providing support for residential programs and other Murie Ranch events including the annual Spirit of Conservation Award and the weekly evening lecture series. 

Summer Pre-K Faculty - Mountain Academy - Victor, ID

Early Childhood summer faculty members are a part of Teton Science Schools community. Faculty work to inspire curiosity, engagement and leadership in children. Facutly members will employ, whenever possible, experiential education within place-based contexts and follow the Reggio Emilia and Nature Based approaches to early childhood education by being responsive to children's interests and curiosities.  The Early Childhood team will build strong relationships with colleauges, students and families. Within the collaborative work environment of TSS, faculty members should expect to be contributing team members, while also taking the initiative to work autonomously.     

Substitute Teacher - K-8 - Mountain Academy, Teton Valley, Idaho

As a substitute teacher, your responsibilities could include implementing a substitute lesson plan, supervising children in class and during lunch/recess, and proctoring online learning. This is an on-call position and is compensated at an hourly rate. Our K-8 school is in need of substitute teachers for the 2025 - 26 school year. Substitute teachers will receive daily plans for any substitute teaching experience and work collaboratively with full-time teachers in the lower, middle, or upper school. Substitute teachers should be prepared (with boots, snow pants, rain jacket, etc.) to be outside in all types of weather.

Program Coordinator - Field Education

The Program Coordinator is the daily face of Field Education for visiting schools, families, & partners. This role leads the hosting and facilitation of programs, ensuring each participant’s experience reflects Teton Science Schools’ mission & place-based education philosophy.

Coordinators manage day-to-day logistics, communication, and materials while maintaining a strong, positive presence across campuses and in the field. They serve as the essential link between Program Managers, instructors, and partners, making programs flow smoothly from planning through delivery and embodying the welcoming, inclusive spirit of TSS.

AmeriCorps Field Education Service Member

AmeriCorps members build the organizational capacity of Teton Science Schools and other local nonprofits and government agencies to increase the quality and accessibility of out-of-school program offerings in the community through needs assessments and project development. AmeriCorps members exit the program as engaged community members, leaders and educators.

Early Childhood Summer Program Instructor - Mountain Academy / Jackson

Early Childhood Summer Program Instructors play a lead role in Mountain Academy’s Reggio Emilia–inspired, nature-based summer programs for children ages 3–5 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Our programs foster curiosity, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth through outdoor exploration, play, and adventure.

Early Childhood Summer Program Assistant

The Early Childhood Summer Program Assistant is a vital member of Mountain Academy’s Reggio Emilia–inspired, nature-based summer programs in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Our programs foster curiosity, critical thinking, and social-emotional learning through outdoor exploration and play, inspiring children to connect with the natural world and each other.

This position works closely with the Early Childhood Assistant Director and instructor team to ensure smooth weekly operations. The Program Assistant supports program logistics, administrative systems, and family communication while also providing instructional and classroom support as needed. Expect to spend time both indoors coordinating systems and outdoors engaging with children, often in variable weather conditions.

This role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in program administration, early childhood education, and summer camp operations within a dynamic, community-oriented organization.

Summer Program Assistant - Field Education

The Summer Program Assistant plays an essential role in Teton Science Schools’ nature and play-based summer programs in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Our summer programs* foster curiosity, critical thinking, social-emotional learning, and science literacy in young learners through outdoor exploration and adventure. 

This position works closely with the Summer Program Coordinator and instructor team to ensure smooth program operations for over 100 campers each week. The Program Assistant keeps the gears turning– managing logistics, administrative systems, and camper family communications– while also supporting program facilitation. This role will spend time both indoors doing administrative work) and outdoors assisting programs in variable weather. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in both program administration and outdoor education at a dynamic and community-oriented field education organization. 

*Although TSS offers summer programs for various age groups, this position is specifically for 1st-7th grade summer day camp programs.*

Field Instructor - Field Education

The Field Education (FE) Instructor team engages participants of all ages in transformative, place-based education throughout Jackson Hole, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and throughout Wyoming and the intermountain west. Participants are typically in grades 5–8, though programs also serve younger elementary students through older adult learners. FE Instructors and Lead Instructors create learner-centered experiences that connect participants to place, inspire leadership, and advance field science practices. These roles are critical to our mission as educational partners of Grand Teton National Park and ambassadors of Teton Science Schools.

Summer Instructor - Field Education

As a Summer Instructor, you’ll co-lead engaging, place-based lessons and activities, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and environmental stewardship. You’ll guide groups of up to 13 campers each week, taking them on outdoor experiences across Grand Teton National Park, the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, and our Jackson Campus. 

 Seasonal Cook - Teton Science Schools

The Seasonal Cook plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, safe, and welcoming food service experiences for participants, graduate students, AmeriCorps members, and staff across Teton Science Schools’ Jackson-area campuses. This position supports the culinary vision of the Executive Chef by preparing meals efficiently and professionally while upholding TSS values around sustainability, inclusivity, and community.

IT Support Specialist

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing TSS’s core digital platforms and systems, with a primary focus on systems administration, business systems integration, and remote / in person support of staff technology needs.

The Head of Field Risk Management is a mission-driven leader responsible for guiding the Risk Management and operational excellence of Teton Science Schools. As a member of the Executive Team, this role provides strategic oversight of the entirety of the Risk Management program across multiple departments, as well as the operations for food service, IT, and property management. This leader will champion a proactive culture of risk management and safety across all campuses and programs.

Human Resources Manager - Teton Science Schools - Jackson, WY

The Human Resources Manager serves as the primary onsite HR leader for Teton Science Schools (TSS), providing comprehensive support across our Early Childhood–8 school, Professional Learning, field education programs, and wildlife expeditions in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.

The role is a trusted partner to employees and managers, offering hands-on HR guidance while collaborating with Helpside PEO for advanced employment law, compliance, and benefits support.
