The Trips & Travel Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of all off-site trips and hikes. The Coordinator will also work with the Office Manager, Program Director, and Camp Director to organize transportation for camper arrival and departure dates.

Camp Cody is a co-ed Summer Camp in Freedom, New Hampshire. Since 1926, we have been providing unique experiences for campers and staff of all ages worldwide. Our Cody team is made up of teachers, athletes, coaches, creatives, hikers, bikers, travelers, and so much more. Together, we provide a safe and fun environment where campers and staff create life-long memories. 


What you’ll be doing

The Trips & Travel Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of all off-site trips and hikes. The Coordinator will also work with the Office Manager, Program Director, and Camp Director to organize transportation for camper arrival and departure dates.  

All staff are required to be vaccinated against Covid-19.


What we need from you

  • Maintaining a transportation schedule for arriving and departing vehicles
  • Work with the Office Manager and Camp Director to ensure that camper pickup and drop-offs run on time.
  • Communicate with families when campers have been picked up and dropped off on check-in and out days.
  • Schedule appropriate transportation to and from trip locations.
  • Educate staff about Cody’s driving and transportation policies.
  • Provide the Health Center, Program Coordinator, and Camp Director with up-to-date trip rosters.
  • Make sure each vehicle is appropriately equipped with First Aid supplies.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Food Service Director for bagged meals for each trip.
  • Coordinate with the Health Center Director for any required camper/staff medications.
  • Act as liaison between Cody and the vehicle rental company.
  • Keep accurate logs of mileage, gas, and all damages to rented vehicles.
  • Conduct a regular check of equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
  • Evaluate the current season and make recommendations for equipment or program changes for the next season.
  • Work as a member of an administrative team that provides guidance and support to all campers and staff.
  • Assist with all-camp events, evening programs, and trips.
  • Complete tasks as assigned by supervisors. 


What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • Administrative experience
  • Experience using Google Docs
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience driving fifteen-passenger vans and/or vehicles of similar size
  • Experience working with children 
  • Knowledge of safety practices as applicable to driving and maintaining rented vehicles
  • Endurance and stamina needed to provide constant programming and supervision to campers and staff
  • Willingness to work late hours
  • Positive attitude and sense of humor
