This Nature Educator position has it all - formal and informal teaching roles, indoor and outdoor programs, students ages 3 years to adult, all taking place in a Nature Center filled with exhibits, on the grounds with over 5 miles of trails, ponds, fields, and woodlands, or in local schools and organizations. Summary
General Description
The Temporary Nature Educator will teach classroom nature programs, guide outdoor walks, and lead 8 weeks of summer day camp in Chautauqua County in New York and Warren County in Pennsylvania. This position is for 40 hours per week from January through September, 2024.
Qualifications
- Enjoys working with children in classroom and outdoor settings;
- Experience working with and teaching children;
- Enthusiasm and the ability to be dynamic;
- Ability to work independently;
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle;
- Clear background check
Preferences
- Experience teaching in an elementary classroom setting;
- Experience in informal settings teaching children;
- Comfort and familiarity with the flora and fauna of western New York
Compensation Information
$15.60 per hour
