Summary

This position is through the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board Americorps (VHCB Americorps).  North Branch Nature Center's mission is to connect people to the natural world.  Our vision is a world in which people learn, teach, and play together in nature to support healthy, resilient communities and ecosystems.  The goal of the Summer Nature Camp Instructor position to help us provide experiential and informational programs through our summer camp program.  Responsibilities include co-developing and teaching summer day camp programs (including aftercare) to children ages 4-15; Mentoring teen Leaders-in-Training; Upholding NBNC's commitment to promoting justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI); Participate in all VHCB Americorps Trainings and events; Engage in professional and personal development activities and networking activities.

Compensation Information

This position begins May 20, 2024 and ends August 16, 2024.  It requires 460 hours of service for an average of 40 hours per week for 13 weeks. Member will receive a living allowance of $6680 (pre-tax), a monthly housing allowance of $300, for a total compensation of $8080 for the term.  Member will receive an education aware of $1824.07 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service.  Other benefits include health insurance, federal school loan forbearance, and various training and networking opportunities.
