Spend a summer teaching and learning in the beautiful Northwoods! The Cable Natural History Museum is seeking young leaders, educators, and scientists who want to share their passion for nature through this long-running internship program. Strengthen your interpretive skills with the support of professional naturalists and museum staff eager to craft an experience that supports career growth.

Summary

The Cable Natural History Museum is a nationally accredited museum and community hub that connects people to Northwoods nature through educational experiences that inspire wonder, discovery, and responsibility. Summer Naturalist Interns gain hands-on experience while working closely with our staff and volunteers in a variety of project areas.

Interns take the lead in planning and presenting a variety of programs for youth and adults including the Junior Naturalist series and Wild Wonders Summer Camp. They also contribute to the diverse array of projects involved with running a small non-profit museum. As part of their training, the Naturalist Interns will become certified Wisconsin Master Naturalist Volunteers.

The Museum is seeking to fill two roles for the Summer 2026 season, running June 2 through August 15. To apply, send a cover letter, resume, and contact information for two professional references. Return application materials by mail or email by January 17, 2026. Full job information can be found on the Museum's Employment Opportunities webpage at cablemuseum.org/jobs/
