Summary

The Vermont Museum of Natural History is growing our Pool Nature Center in Marlboro, VT.  We are looking for a sociable, outgoing individual with a love for the natural world to take an active role in daily Nature Center operations and public interactions for the busy summer months. Experience working with people and animals will be a big plus as is any education background. Duties:

Engage with public during open hours

Open and Close Nature Center building 5 days per week

Work with Education Coordinator to develop daily program schedule at Nature Center

Lead daily presentations utilizing trails, grounds and live animals

Assist with two weeks of on-site summer camp

Work with staff and volunteers to keep site clean and professional

Work with staff and education docents to help run on and off-site events and presentations

Assist with special projects and tasks as needed

Compensation Information

$20 per hour for a $30 hour work week, opportunities for additional contract programming at higher rate and strong network of support
