Summer Camp Staff - Unit Leaders, Directors: Program, Land Activities, Health Supervisor

About Us:  

We are the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, a non-profit serving Girl Scouts in Vermont and New Hampshire. Our mission is to build girls with courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. As a council, we have several day camps and one overnight camp throughout Vermont and New Hampshire.  

Overnight/Residential Camp: Camp Farnsworth in Thetford, Vermont is looking to hire overnight camp staff for the upcoming camp season. Staff will be expected to arrive at camp for all staff training beginning June 19 with earlier start dates possible depending on position. Camper sessions begin June 28 and run through August 5, with staff season ending August 7. Staff will be expected to be on site from Sunday morning to Friday evening with possible weekend work options. Housing and food are provided during camp! Staff can expect 2 hours of break daily and 24 hours off a week. 

Day Camps: We have three day camps: Camp Twin Hills - Richmond, VT, Camp Kettleford - Bedford, NH, and Camp Seawood - Portsmouth, NH. Counselors and staff can expect to have a fun, full day at camp daily starting at 8:30 am and ending at 5 pm. Each week there is one later afternoon ending at 5:30 pm for family night that staff are expected to participate in. Positions Available: 

If you have experience working with young people, enjoy being outdoors and are looking to grow professionally this summer, then we have a position for you!  

There is a variety of available positions available including leadership (*) positions for applicants (preferred) age of 21+: 

• Camp Counselors (16+ day, 17+ overnight) 
• Unit Leaders* 
• Program Director* 
• Land Activities Director* 
• Aquatics/Waterfront Director* 
• Assistant Camp Director and Health Supervisor* 
• Health Supervisor* 
• Assistant Camp Director* 

Experience Required:  

Share your previous experiences, qualities, and interests with us that will make you a successful camp team member. Minimum camp staff requirements with additional requirements and experience required by position: 

• experience working with youth 
• experience working outdoors 
• initiative and creativity with work assignments  

For anyone working at camp we ask that you are physically able to: 

• identify and respond to emergency situations 
• participate in all camp activities 
• travel around camp over uneven terrain 
• be able to move, lift and carry program equipment (20lbs+) 
• have the stamina to maintain constant supervision of campers 
• always act like a role model by remaining friendly, courteous and patient
