Come join our team for the summer on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. CedarRoot Folk School is looking for facilitators of deep nature awareness for participants age 7-14.

Summary

CedarRoot Folk School is seeking a Lead Instructor for its Summer Camp Nature Studies Programs

Job Description:
CedarRoot School provides outdoor learning programs that mentor students in building a strong relationship with the natural world through play, nature awareness, wilderness skills and landscape exploration. Programs are designed for students in age groups of 7-16. The lead instructor will create a safe environment for children to engage in the mysteries of this amazing world.
Ideal applicant is versatile enough to work with youth and help coordinate assistant instructor(s)
Hours: M-F 8:30-3:15, end of June through end of August

Requirements:

Vaccinated from Covid 19

Experience teaching and working with children, ideally outdoors

Capacity to be outside in all weather (and enjoy it!)

Have a genuine enjoyment of teaching and good rapport with students

Ability to communicate professionally with parents and other staff

Coordinate with the Executive Director regarding group dynamics and pertinent parent interactions that are consistent with the values of CedarRoot Folk School.

Participate in staff enrichment and professional development

Compensation:
Starting pay $700-$1,000 per week DOE. A monthly review may result in subsequent pay raises based on performance and potential to stay on for fall programs.
