Are you looking for a fun and rewarding opportunity during your summer break? Join us at Camp Como at Como Park Zoo & Conservatory! We are seeking skilled camp instructors to be part of our summer team.
We are also hiring special education teachers for our Camp Care Specialist position.

Work as little as three weeks or spend the entire summer with us!

Information specific to this position:

  • Dates: June 8 – August 21, 2026 (minimum three-week commitment required)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 32 hours per week
  • Compensation: $750 per week

Required training dates: May 16–17, 2026 or May 30–31, 2026 (Some scheduling flexibility available)

  • Training Stipend: $300

Here's what you can expect to do:

  • Prepare and teach assigned camp curriculum
  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences
  • Ensure safety, quality, and consistency in all camp activities
  • Manage classroom and outdoor learning environments throughout the zoo and conservatory
  • Build positive relationships with campers, families, and volunteer assistants
  • Adapt curriculum creatively and problem-solve in real time

Position Requirements

  • Teaching license or equivalent credentials
  • Minimum of 1 year of classroom experience with PreK–6th grade
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred)
