Summer Camp Counselor - FT Seasonal

The Frick Environmental Center is hiring Summer Nature Camp Counselors who will be responsible for helping youth from the greater Pittsburgh area enjoy, explore, and connect to Frick Park and other outdoor spaces in our community.

Counselors will have the opportunity to join our team of dedicated educators as we take steps in our commitment to equity. We value the diversity of people (race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion) that make Pittsburgh beautiful and do our best to reach people from different walks of life, both in who we serve and who we hire.

We provide training necessary to excel at your job for those who have a can-do spirit and positive attitude. Counselors will have the opportunity to teach and supervise children ages pre-K through 8th grade in Summer Nature Camps. Camp activities include singing songs, hiking trails, building campfires, making crafts, among many others.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The ability to work well on a team, communicate with others, give and receive feedback, and contribute to a positive work environment
A desire to spend time with children & youth, to be engaged in creating fun and positive experiences for them, and to be committed to supporting their growth and learning
A desire to spend time outdoors, an enthusiasm for connecting others to the outdoors, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
The ability to face challenges with flexibility and resilience

Requirements:

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
Applicants must have the strength to lift at least 30 pounds

Dates and Availability: 

Monday, May 23, to Friday, August 19th, 2022
Mondays through Fridays from 8:00AM to 4:00PM

Compensation: $13.50/hr
