Summer Camp Counselor

Work outside with kids this summer with New Castle County's department of Parks and Recreation! New Castle County Government has openings for seasonal full and part-time summer positions assisting with summer recreation camps. Applicants must be available during the summer months. Positions work 20-40 hours per week starting May 30, 2023, through August 15, 2023. Applicants must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate at the time of employment. Experience working with children is preferred. Selected applicants must pass a background check and drug screen

Camp Counselors: plan, organize, and direct camp and summer programs and activities across different County parks at the direction of the Head Counselor. Supervise children ensuring safety and positive behavior and have the ability to communicate courteously and effectively. ($16.54-$20.10/hr).

Head Camp Counselors: Responsible for day-to-day operation of summer camp and summer programs and activities at a specific site. Supervise subordinate staff and maintain records and submit reports. Oversees the safety and behavior of youth; making onsite appropriate decisions. Applicants should have at least three years of experience leading groups of children. Teachers, paraprofessionals, and coaches are encouraged to apply. ($17.36-$21.11/hr).
