Summary
Each week, counselors are responsible for overseeing a group of campers and providing guidance and support throughout the campers’ stay at Rockhaven. Counselors have an interactive role with their campers, they are expected to participate in all activities while working to create a safe and fun environment. Most weeks, two counselor groups are paired together to create a community group for certain activities and events. Counselors spend the most time engaging with campers and play a pivotal role in shaping the camper experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee camper health and safety. Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure the well-being of campers.
- Actively engage campers to encourage camper participation in all aspects of camp.
- Establish connections with campers by taking the time to understand each individual. Learn about their unique interests and needs by investing fully in your conversations and play.
- Guides campers in creating their daily and weekly schedules around the UnCamp model.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors on decision-making and problem-solving. Contribute positively to a cohesive team environment.
- Foster an inclusive camp environment for ALL campers.
- Proactively participate in resolving conflicts among campers.
- Address safety concerns promptly and report immediately to the Rockhaven Director.
Staff Training will run from June 8th - June 12th
Camp will run from June 15th - August 14th
Weekends off and there's a break in the middle of the summer.
Compensation Information
Pay is $550 a week for ten weeks. Food and housing is provided for all ten weeks!
