Walker Creek Ranch is an outdoor education and conference center nestled in the hills along the pacific coast just north of San Francisco, California. The ranch is 5 miles from scenic Tomales Bay, 15 miles from the historic town of Petaluma, and a 1hour drive from the Golden Gate Bridge. Summer employment revolves around lifeguarding at our pond, supporting in the dining hall, cleaning, building campfires, and much more. Room and board is available for committed seasonal staff. Summary

Lifeguarding and Conference Center Shifts in West Marin (Summer 2025)

 

Positions available at Marin County Office of Education’s Walker Creek Ranch, a west Marin Outdoor Education and Conference Center located about 30 minutes west of Petaluma. Shifts beginning in June with more frequent weekday and weekend shifts available from July through the end of August 2025. 

 

Lifeguard* ($24.83/hour) supports the conference center and hospitality services by overseeing waterfront activities at our 4-acre pond. A current American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate is required (additional open water certification and/or WFR a plus). Reimbursement for lifeguard recertification and/or training may be available. Summer orientation will take place on June 13th. Lifeguard training is available. It is scheduled for the week of June 16th. 

 

Conference Helper* ($21.45/hour) supports the conference center and hospitality services by setting up, cleaning and breaking down lodging and meeting rooms, supporting dining hall and kitchen during mealtimes, and working with conference guests. Summer orientation will take place on June 13th

 

*It is possible to work in both capacities throughout the summer. Ideally, all summer seasonal staff are lifeguard certified.

 

**Room and board may be available for those interested in consistent summer employment. Our kitchen prepares meals for guest groups. Summer staff have access to food after meal service as well as leftovers. Lodging for seasonal summer staff is a private room in the naturalists lodge where there are hall way bathrooms, a kitchen, and dinning/living room. Wi-Fi and utilities are included.
