Be part of a small team working to provide environmental education, facilitate games, and lead activities for campers in our community forest lands. This position is perfect for those looking to work with small groups to practice naturalist skills, while walking 3-4 miles along the trails each day. Our summer camp assistant will bring experience working with kids in informal education settings, and excitement to teach about forest ecology.

Summary

The Summer Camp Assistant will be responsible for assisting our Youth Education Coordinator in running 5 weeks of summer camp for campers ages 6-14. Primary responsibilities will include supporting and facilitating activities, managing small group dynamics, maintaining a safe environment and bringing energy to our group. Work takes place entirely outdoors in the Anacortes Community Forest Lands (ACFL). Our camp program is free to participants and grounded in our belief that connecting to nature, practicing stewardship and having fun in the forest should be accessible to all. Successful applicants will have a passion for these values and bring excitement and enthusiasm to this role.

Compensation Information

$17.00-19.00/hr depending on experience, paid monthly
