Summary
City of Rocks National Reserve and Castle Rocks State Park are hiring for summer seasonal ranger positions. Pay starts at $14/hour and the jobs generally last from May to August/September. Jobs range from providing interpretive programs,to custodial, to assisting with camping and safety.
The Purpose of City of Rocks National Reserve is to preserve and protect through cooperative efforts the scenic qualities and attributes of the California Trail landscape, historic rural setting, and granite features, while interpreting its values and managing recreation.
The Mission of Castle Rocks State Park is to protect and interpret its geologic features, ranching heritage, and prehistory. The park will be managed to reserve its intrinsic values such as scenic views, silence, and nature. Through innovative partnerships the park will provide appropriate recreational opportunities and public access.
Seasonal Ranger positions are available in all programs:
- Visitor Services and Interpretation
- Compliance/Safety
- Custodial
Applicants must be 18 or over and have a valid driver's license. Free camping is available with limited RV hookup spots (first come, first serve). Seasonals also have access to indoor kitchen, shower, restroom, and laundry facilities.
