Summary
Join our team and share your love of the outdoors with others! Michigan Department of Natural Resources hires seasonal Explorer Guides and visitor center staff in state parks each summer. You'll have the opportunity to connect people to nature by leading hikes, teaching outdoor skills, creating activities & presenting fun programs that feature each park's unique resources. Plus, you'll have the best "office" views around!
We offer paid training in hands-on environmental activities, nature interpretation & other core job skills. Program supplies are provided. Need an internship? Positions may be adapted to fulfill your specific requirements.
Most positions are 30-40 hours/week and starting pay is $10.20/hour. Housing is NOT provided, and you should be willing to work a varied shift that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Interviews for open positions will begin in mid-March. Work begins with training in mid-May and continues through the summer until late August.
